X-Factor (1986-1998) #108, written by John Francis Moore; Todd DeZago

Welcome to the thrilling (and slightly bonkers) universe of X-Factor! Issue #108 might be one of those comics that leaves you scratching your head, wondering if you should read the previous 107 issues before diving in, or if this is just another day in the life of our beloved mutant misfits. Spoiler alert: it's probably the latter.

In this episode of "Let's See How Many Mutants We Can Cramp into One Issue," our ragtag team of super-powered beings is dealing with the aftermath of some seriously chaotic events. Think of it like a group therapy session, but instead of talking through their feelings, they're throwing punches and dealing with existential crises - classic X-Men style!

First up, we have the ever-melancholic Quicksilver, who has more manpain than a soap opera star. He's on a quest to prove he's not just a speedster with daddy issues and, spoiler alert, he's not doing a great job of it. His love life is stickier than a three-day-old gum under a school desk. You can practically hear the dramatic music playing in the background while he ponders if he should save the world or just have another existential crisis.

Meanwhile, Madrox the Multiple Man is facing some serious identity issues. And by "identity issues," I mean he's literally splitting into multiple versions of himself like a sad, greenish-brown piñata at a birthday party gone wrong. Each version of him has its own emotional baggage, which means there's a whole crowd of Madroxes standing around, bickering and trying to one-up each other when all they really want is to be seen and validated. Don't we all, Madrox? Don't we all?

And then there's M, also known as Monet St. Croix, who struts around like she's auditioning for a superhero version of America's Next Top Model. Let's not forget she has telepathic powers, which means she's not just the queen of sass - she's also in everyone's heads, eavesdropping on their most secret thoughts while simultaneously serving fierce looks. Talk about multitasking!

The plot thickens, though (because when doesn't it in a mutant comic?), as they face off against formidable foes and a copious amount of mutant drama. There are explosions, witty banter, and enough inner turmoil to fuel a small country. The stakes are high, and if you thought the relationship drama was intense, just wait until you see the plot twists that come flying at you faster than one of Quicksilver's speed runs.

By the end of this issue, readers are left wondering how many more complexities the lives of these heroes can take before the universe itself collapses. Will they save the day? Will they save themselves? Or will they simply continue this tragicomic cycle of doom and gloom that we've all come to love? You'll have to flip through the pages to find out-or just read the next issue, because no, you're not getting closure here!

So, if you're into tales of super-powered angst and humor that's just as strong as the action sequences, you've hit the jackpot. Just remember to buckle up, because the road won't always be smooth in X-Factor!

Classics, bestsellers, and guilty pleasures-none are safe from my sarcastic recaps. I turn heavy reads into lighthearted summaries you can actually enjoy. Warning: may cause random outbursts of laughter while pretending to study literature.
